Position Overview
Hong Kong International Airport is seeking reliable, hardworking and physically fit individuals to join its airport ground operations team as Trolley Assistants – Night Shift.
Trolley Assistants play an important role in maintaining a smooth passenger experience by ensuring baggage trolleys are available, organized and ready for use throughout designated airport areas.
This position is suitable for both experienced workers and first-time job seekers. Previous experience is not required, and successful applicants will receive paid induction and on-the-job training.
Main Duties
– Collect baggage trolleys from designated airport areas, including arrival and departure halls, baggage claim areas, terminal entrances, transport connections and parking facilities.
– Safely transport groups of trolleys back to designated trolley stations.
– Keep trolley stations adequately stocked throughout the shift.
– Monitor trolley availability and replenish stations when required.
– Inspect trolleys for visible damage or safety issues.
– Report defective equipment to supervisors.
– Separate damaged trolleys from those that are ready for passenger use.
– Maintain clean and organized trolley storage areas.
– Follow airport safety procedures and operational guidelines.
– Remain aware of passenger movement and surrounding activities.
– Support airport operations during weekends, holidays, peak travel periods and special events.
– Communicate operational requirements to supervisors and team members.
– Work cooperatively with other airport service teams.
– Provide basic assistance or directions to passengers when appropriate.
– Perform other duties reasonably assigned by supervisors.
Candidate Requirements
– No previous experience required.
– Fresh graduates and first-time job seekers are welcome.
– Minimum basic educational qualification.
– Physically fit and capable of performing manual work.
– Able to stand and walk for extended periods.
– Able to push and maneuver multiple baggage trolleys safely.
– Comfortable working indoors and outdoors when required.
– Willing to work permanent night shifts.
– Able to work weekends and public holidays when required.
– Willing to work overtime according to operational needs.
– Responsible, punctual, disciplined and dependable.
– Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
– Good communication and teamwork skills.
– Able to work independently with appropriate supervision.
– Comfortable working in a multicultural environment.
– Basic English communication skills are preferred.
– Cantonese or Mandarin is an advantage but not essential.
Working Schedule
Night Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Work Pattern:
– 5 working days per week
– 2 rest days per week
Additional overtime may be available depending on airport operations, passenger volume and staffing requirements.
